Worked on this in November last year. The whole Secret Cinema team helped convert an abandoned hospital in west london into Oregon State hospital.
Me and Helen worked on this room, the Lobotomy and Electro-convulsive therapy room. The Guerrilla Science ([link] ) team then did all the demonstrations with the help of a disturbingly good actor.

This reminded me of movies like "Requiem for a Dream" or "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". I think my associations are understandable :D

That's awesome man! I love that film!

I used to live right down the street from Oregon State hospital. They just tore down the old creepy mental hospital building recently. Fortunately I've never had to stay there.

Thats amazing, I've been meaning to ask if you lived near there.. Yeah I found out about it getting knocked down when I was doing research for this project. Apparently it had big underground passages to transport patients to nearby buildings in the hospital, they looked really interesting..

I don't know if you've seen this, but during renovations thousands of copper urns containing ashes of patients that died at the hospital were found. There was an amazing art project documenting them... [link]

Hey yeah this was the first thing I found out about when researching the place, the photos are amazing.
There was an installation at the secret cinema event where they filled a small room in the "abandoned" ward with similar containers.
