I had a few confusing moments in photoshop recently, you may have already been through this.. I went through a series of stressful moments worrying about contrast differences between web browsers and photoshop colour profiles and 16 to 8 bit conversion.
I am confident now that the image has been saved properly.
When working in 16 bit mode in PS, I had the colour profile "Monitor RGB" with proof colours ticked. When switching the image mode to 8 bit so it could be submitted on DA here, I had to switch to "windows RGB", either way it would have come out looking the same, but it looked too bright and dithered in photoshop unless I used those "proof setup" options.

This is a more completed rendering of an older file version. I try to add new properties to this particle set up as often as I can.

Its awesome, where are the tuts for the project :)
Im currently using python for some data visualization based on interactive learning apps, but if I could use C4d to produce something like this, it would be great.
U are familiar with my work (I think www.rodil.dk) I will show something on the web about it later this week. send me a mail if we should discuss it further ;)

Hey man, there aren't any tutorials that explain how to get this exact result, I made it using xpresso. The main form was created using Thinking Particles and the mograph tracer.
I don't have any time to write tutorials unfortunately.. You can get a lot of great help from places like c4dcafe.com and base80.com

For the 8bit image, I always have to change my colour profile to sRGB IEC61966-2.1, which is a default in photoshop, in order for it to display correctly on web.

:omg: Whoa... That's super impressive man! That sinister looking model combined with the lighting and lens effects makes for a dope looking render... I don't get how you did this. Is it a mesh that's generated from particles?

Thanks man, I traced the movement of particles and made the trails into splines, different thickness for different particle groups and then deforming geometry and doing whatever with the mesh :)

Oh OK, that makes sense... The result is fucking awesome!

: D do you have some sort of way of tracing things? would be awesome to trace particles from realflow to make some sort of insane hairy strange structure : O
